Leadership Blog

Leadership Blog

Written by leaders for leaders, it’s a rambunctious resource where social architects meet with visionary leaders to challenge your creativity and provoke you to a new reality within the context of “doing” church.  As a leader, your realities are forged from your knowledge and exposure to the larger “global” reality of God’s Kingdom work going on throughout the earth.  Recast your vision for your community today!

Bishop T.D. Jakes - One of Five Leaders I Would Love To Meet With

I personally believe that Bishop Jakes is one of the most gifted leaders that I’ve ever seen in my life.  I perry_hero_edited-1.jpglove to hear the man teach…especially on the subject of leadership.

(I bought his “Best Of” sermon series and play it on my ipod when I run sometimes…always makes me run faster.)

Once again…got to tell a few people here to get a freakin life…because every time I mention Bishop Jakes in any positive light the “theology police” write in and begin to list all of the problems they have with the things he teaches.

Getting fed

Proverbs 26:15headshot.jpg
The sluggard buries his hand in the dish;
He is too lazy to bring it back to his mouth.

What a great picture of nominal, noncommittal church attendees!
We all know that one of top 3 reasons people leave churches is the (infamous) claim:
“I wasn’t getting fed there.”

Maybe you weren’t. Or maybe the church set the table, presented the bread of life, and you were too stinking lazy to bring it back to your mouth, chew it, swallow, and digest it, like a big boy.

Shake Things Up With Your Creativity

Face it. You do your job everyday. But what is making you different? What is making you better? Are you continuing to learn and improve - or have you reached your altitude and comfortable level of cruise control? Check out this video of a flight attendant not content to do what is merely expected of him. And now you’re probably with me in wondering why we don’t fly Southwest more often. So after the shock wears off, and you’ve forwarded it to your friends, do a little brainstorming to find ways you can make your job better (for you and those around you) by doing something new, innovative and/or unexpected.
