GO Fish PDF Print E-mail

gofish.jpgWe are all supposed to “Go Fish!”  Each one of us has heard the command.  Yes, that’s right – it’s not a suggestion, it’s a command, “Go Fish.”

Our village depends on fish. Our future is fish.  Our present circumstance is because of fish.  Our need is fish, and our supply is in the fish.  It’s all about fish.

As far as the eye can see, there are vast pools where fishing is possible. Fishing is unlimited.
Fishing is so prominent, that many villagers hear old stories about fishing exploits. There are discussion board’s blogging about fishing, library book shelves containing volumes of “how-to” guides to fishing, and there are community activities to support fishing.

Fishing is so important to community life, that society has formed study groups on fishing, committees to control fishing, and experts who train in fishing techniques and clubs to promote fishing.

But, the bottom line is the community must have people who will get up and “Go Fishing!”  Jesus’ very first words to His disciples were in Matthew 4:19, “Jesus called out, ‘Come follow Me and I will show you how to fish for the souls of men.’”  Look at this incredible truth: following and fishing go together!  If you’re not fishing, then you may not be following.

Join us this March as we kick off our newest sermon series “Go Fish!”  As we get ready to navigate the words of Jesus and understand the fulfillment of His mission – you too can get your 2010 fishing license and become a part of the “Go Fishing” tournament at the Church of Champions!
