Tribute to Edwin Santiago

My friend,

Thank you for giving us so many wonderful memories.  My life is so blessed because of the time you and Iedwin-santiago2little.jpg were able to share doing God’s Kingdom work.

Edwin, your life serves as an inspiration to all of us who have known you. Your passionate pursuit of God’s love and grace given for the broken daily renews the motivation of all who were privileged to serve with you.

You were a man full of fun. Everything from your “native” stories to playing a joke on a friend; all of it crowns our memories with gladness and glee.

Your eyes danced at the thought of adventure the dawn of each new morning offered.  Every day was an opportunity for you.  From buying cars to taking pictures; from selling boats to buying bling, you had a blast living life.

edwin-santiago_copy.jpgWhen confronted with struggle or chastened with sickness, you never stopped to complain, but rather you gathered your strength to charge each new day with handful’s of trust and a heart full of love for God, your healer! Your speech never betrayed your genuine trust in God, but rather confirmed a deep abiding faith in Him and it revealed a heart that was after Him.

It has been said that spiritual maturity is the distance between disappointment and hallelujah!  You my friend, never allowed your health to sideline you in the journey of life, but rather you chose to embrace each moment you were given to live your life out loud!

We will miss you.  We will miss your hilarity and your humility.  We will miss your passion for people and your love for Jesus.  We will miss your bright smile and we will miss your soulful worship.  We will miss your music and we will miss your song.  We will miss your service and we will miss your sermon.

Edwin, what a happy day it will be when all of us are reunited with you across that golden strand.  There, will we sing without sickness and you will play your drums without weariness.  We will worship together before an audience of One, singing anthems of jubilation and lifting our voices together in praise. Millions more will complete that holy convocation of brothers, sisters, elders and angels.

So Edwin my friend, rest now my brother and enjoy your respite, for on our eternal tomorrow we will join you in God's unyielding light.
