The Broken American Male...

The Broken American Male and How to Fix Him

Have you ever read a book and said “I wish that I would have written that.” The Broken American Male wayne_neylandweb.jpgand How to Fix Him, written by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach is the best book I have read in the last four years.

Here are a few of the chapter titles.

  • The Curse of Ambition-
  • From Career to Calling -
  • A New Definition of Success -
  • Hero without a Spotlight
  • Rise, Oh Circle Man.

I encourage every Pastor, Leader, and Man I know to get this book. This is the book that explains how most men feel but have not been able to express it.

Here is a quote taken from the chapter, The Curse of Ambition.

There is a healthy and unhealthy ambition Rabbi Boteach explains. “The unhealthy variety is when we feel that we are internally dark, with nothing to contribute, and therefore are always seeking the external spotlight. We are ambitious out of weakness. We seek to substantiate ourselves out of a sense of our own nothingness. The man who experiences the luminescence of his own soul will never feel dark. Rather, he will seek to share his light with the world. But the man who feels dark will forever be dependent on the external spotlight in order to feel alive. And this is unhealthy ambition of the worst kind.”

This book will not only help you, it will help you to help others.
