Hell had no idea what was transpiring deep within the womb of the earth. Her gluttony and drunkenness
had reached a fevered pitch as her evil revelry mimed to a new poisoned ballad… “Heir is dead…. We have killed Him… as we've said.” Demons were dizzy with the apparent victory they had scored against the lone Nazarene. The ruthless betrayal of His disciple and subsequent crucifixion by the Romans was only eclipsed by the maniacal, blood-thirsty cry of those named Pharisee. Their rank gluttony feasted on the Bread, they thought forever dead.
But Oh’ what reclamation laid in store. Grace was stirring in a dimension they were blind to and barred from. In fact, the sulfur-eyed demon sentinel had no idea that the next One through the door would not be an alien intruder, but the Creator of his chasm and the Judge of his damnation.
In just hours, the Light would burst through the darkness. The Door would appear in his passage. The Lamb slain would appear in brilliant garments of white-light. Angels would sing adoration to His name and Grace would reclaim her throne from the Law. Oh yes, there was to be a long celebration, but it would not be in this place at this time. The celebration would occur in His city, where no demon would ever trod. The radiant light of His glory would blaze as the centerpiece of His table – communion at the Marriage Supper! And, for a million years and more – the once captive, but now freed sons of God would sing with Joy to His name!
Their zeal for His name could not be diminished or diverted by secondary allegiances. These who are called “saints” refused to join those many and myriad good causes on earth, so that they would not miss the best in Heaven.
Heaven rang with the song of the saints they learned on their first Easter morn….
Joy is here
For life has come,
And death is speechless,
Ordered dumb.
His name is Jesus! Our illustrious King and Potentate, the Lord of Heaven and Earth!
I hope to see you in the morning for a fantastic Easter morning celebration at the Church of Champions. Bring a friend and celebrate - He is risen!
