Be The Church

Friends,

Our human frailty is most expressed in those moments of our greatest weakness.  Weariness always brings w_hutchins_sm.jpgout the worst in us.  It seems to me that this week has been a one in which the spiritual warfare in our nation has been intensified to wear down the saints of the Most High God.  (See Daniel 7:25).

I do not recall another holiday in which more people struggled within their souls.  Their emotions are raw. They find it difficult or nearly impossible to voice their adoration to God and give expressions of gratitude and thanksgiving.  Many Christians are deluged at Mother’s Day with the sore and delicate memories often associated with the loss of a mother or the scars they carry in life as mothers.  What a tragedy.

During this week, it’s imperative for the Church to remember her mandate.  We are the expressions of God’s love.  We are the hospital where the broken should run to.  We are the instruments God chooses to use to heal every broken heart, to assuage every fear and to destroy every yoke of torment.   We are the Church!

In this hour, so near His coming, let us purpose to fix our hearts on Jesus and manifest His extravagant love for those we meet today.  Put away the leisure seductions of Laodicea!  Be done with the carnal respite of living easy, living free, living dead.  Living life with no passion.  Existing in life with no zeal.  Oh’ no – be bold with His love and know, “He has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Tim. 1:7).

This is no time to be absent in the field – His near return involves you!  Don’t miss it!  Remember the FAV 5 of the New Testament, all virgins nonetheless, who tell of the horror of missing His return! (See Matt. 25).

Don’t miss this weekend.  It all starts Friday night at 7:30 p.m.  It resumes Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. and then Sunday celebration at 10:00 a.m.  It’s going to be life-changing!
