Faith Speaks.
“But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, ‘Do not say in your heart, “Who will ascend into heaven?”’ (that is, to bring Christ down from above) or, “’Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? ‘The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’ (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:6-9.
“And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, ‘I believed and therefore I spoke,’ we also believe and therefore speak.” II Corinthians 4:13.
“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” John 6:63.
“When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, ‘Son of David, have mercy on us!’ And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, ‘Do you believe that I am able to do this?’ They said to Him, ‘Yes, Lord.’ Then He touched their eyes, saying, ‘According to your faith let it be to you.’ And their eyes were opened.” Matt 9:27-30.
The blind men had faith, they spoke their faith, and it was done to them according to their faith.
“Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying, ‘Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.’ And Jesus said to him, ‘I will come and heal him.’ The centurion answered and said, ‘Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. ‘For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, “Go,” and he goes; and to another, “Come,” and he comes; and to my servant, “Do this,“ and he does it.’ When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! ‘And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. ‘But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ Then Jesus said to the centurion, ‘Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.’ And his servant was healed that same hour.” Matthew 8:5-13.
The centurion, a Gentile, not even a son of Abraham, had faith. He knew Jesus merely needed to speak, and it would be so. Our Lord speaks faith! “Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light.” Genesis 1:3. He spoke, and it was. “God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;” Romans 4:17. “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11. We are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26). We as Christians, children of God (John 1:12), have the power of the Father in us! “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,” Ephesians 3:20.
When we speak, our words have power. Always speak faith! Don’t speak sickness, poverty, hatred, unbelief, etc. Don’t say, “Well, I feel the flu coming on. Every year around this time, someone in my family always gets sick.” Guess what? You have what you say! You just spoke sickness over your house. Stop it! If you feel a scratch in your throat, say, “I’m not sick. I’m not getting sick. My family is not getting sick. I’m healed in the name of Jesus! By His stripes, I was healed!” (II Peter 2:24, Isaiah 53:5). In so doing, you speak faith! Always speak love, health, prosperity. Always speak faith! Believe what the Word says about you and speak it!
It is difficult at first. We have been trained in this world to speak our circumstances. We must change our words of doubt and unbelief into words of faith. We must make an effort and remind ourselves daily to speak faith. “You are snared by the words of your mouth; you are taken by the words of your mouth.” Proverbs 6:2. “Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips.” Psalm 141:3. The Book of Proverbs alone references one’s mouth, tongue, lips, words, or how you should speak 117 times! What we speak is important! Speak faith!
“So Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea,” and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:22-24.
Speak to the mountain, whatever that mountain might be: sickness, poverty, fear, depression, anger, weakness, unemployment, etc. Jesus said, “Whoever says to this mountain.” Speak directly to the mountain. Many Christians, instead of speaking to the mountain, speak to God saying, “Well I guess if it’s Your will for me to be healed, God, You’ll heal me.” Guess what? It IS God’s will for you to be healed! It IS God’s will for you to prosper in all you do! (Joshua 1:8-9, Psalm 1:1-3). The LORD doesn’t want a bunch of sick, pitiful, defeated Christians stumbling around on this earth. He wants victorious, powerful, Spirit-filled Christians marching around spreading the Gospel and using the authority He gave us! “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.’” Matthew 28:18. “All things that the Father has are Mine.” John 16:15 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Luke 10:19. Speak to the mountain! Tell it to be removed in the name of Jesus! Do not doubt! “Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them.”
Believe and receive your healing, your prosperity, your confidence, your peace, your strength, your job, etc.
