This past weekend was a landmark weekend in the history of our church.
We launched into a new orbit of church life. We demonstrated that we really can “do” church so that unbelievers could “see” the church. What excitement! What fulfillment!
Well, today was another win for the Church of Champions. Today a big yellow Caterpillar bulldozer arrived to begin moving our earth and shaping our future! Champions, God is up to some BIG things on our behalf and each of us have been granted front row seats!
We are reshaping more than real estate – we are reshaping our community by “being” the Church of Champions. While we are flexing to stay in the game and win the lost – we are adapting to changing circumstances, challenging cultures and complex crisis. This year any fellowship of believers that is attempting to do ministry like ministry was done five years ago is being left behind at warp speed.
We have a new “world” reality which requires a new way of doing ministry. There has never been a better
opportunity for the Church to become the “salt” and “light” it is called to be. Right now, the Church has the amazing opportunity to become everything Jesus designed us to be. Now is the time to return to our roots – now is the time to be re-sculptured and realize new ministry forms, expressions, symbols, methods, and practices.
This new reality requires new ways of doing things and that can have a huge impact on our methodology of ministry. No longer are we afforded only “proclamation” opportunities, we are offered “serving” opportunities. Compassion hungry people will no longer consider “what” you say and do, they want to “see” how we say it and do it. Today, we cannot separate the WHAT from the HOW – the Message from the method!
Champions, it’s no longer about us sharing our message of Jesus, now it must be about us becoming the
message of Jesus. The form is as important as the content, and since the message is the Jesus Message (the extravagant love of God for a needy world), we cannot fail in LIVING the Message!
So, LIVE the Message strong and out LOUD!
