The Richness of Thanksgiving 2009 at the Church of Champions

Serving comes at the great expense of denying “self.”homeless1.jpg

To deny self and serve others is to capture the heartbeat of God!

Yesterday morning, I watched in awe as hundreds of volunteers laid down their family plans, party plans, day plans, on the altars of serving and sacrifice – and serve the community of less fortunate!

To participate in this divine moment was worth every sacrifice.  In fact, our “Thanksgiving” evening was much richer because of the service given and the sacrifice made just hours earlier.

Church of Champions is a community of selfless acts of love!  Loving God!  Loving Others!  Serving the world!

heroes1.jpgIf you have never seen the faces of God’s heroes, just witness the soul who’s fortunate enough to capture the heart of God near their personal altar of selflessness!  Remember, it was Jesus who said, “34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.  37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?  38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?  39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?  40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”                                      Matt 25:34-40 KJV

Blessings to you and our prayer is that you have had the happiest of Thanksgiving days!
