Dear Friends,
It has been a few days since I’ve blogged and I apologize for being “absent”….
WOW! That’s what my soul is screaming right now. At the Church of Champions we have been in a full
court press. This past week, we celebrated Emmaus & Beyond’s 27th verse. And oh’ the marvelous things God did for our guests are beyond description. So many lives were radically changed by the love of God. Gratitude dripped from their lips like honey from the honey comb.
This verse was radically impacted by the many, many hours of prayer and fasting that preceded its launch on Thursday evening. Oh’ how God wrapped His arms around us that first evening and continued to walk with us throughout the weekend. It culminated in a serious celebration experience Sunday morning at the Church of Champions! The presence and power of God was so thick in the auditorium it hung like a curtain of Shekinah glory!
Get ready Emmaus & Beyond, 2010 will be radically different! All of the Alumni should be watching for some critical information in your email just after the holidays. We are planning a reunion for all Alumni of Houston and San Antonio in the summer of 2010.
This week, we already have changed gears and are revving up for the Men’s Ministry event “The Ultimate Fight Club.” Let me tell you – God is going to show up and show out for the men who have made preparations for their weekend to be invaded by His glory. We will be kicking off the first round at COC’s UFC at 8:30AM with Continental Breakfast. Don’t be late. We have some unique speakers
who will be sharing some inimitable advice for men. Come on, get in the game – be a Champion! For more information, call 281.580.8674 and asked to speak with David Grigsby.
Then, during the weekend of November 22, the Children’s Ministry will be celebrating 21 years of dynamic work done with our children. We are excited about casting our vision for Children’s Ministry in 2010 and beyond. Plans are being made, funds are being committed, Teachers are excited, and Children are dancing over some new elements engaged to help us “train up our children in the ways of the Lord.”
And finally, on Thanksgiving Day – November 26th, the Church of Champions will be hosting and feeding the hungry of our community. It’s going to be an exciting day of serving and giving. If you would like to join us and make a difference in Northwest Houston, feel free to contact us.
This is the season of thanksgiving, so rejoice and be glad. The winds are shifting, the air is much cooler, the turkey and dressing are cooking and football is in full swing….. Simply put, this is an awesome time of the year!
Grace and Peace,
WEHII
