I am challenged by so many things as I have this awesome privilege to work with people both in the Kingdom and in this broken world. But one of the greatest things that I am challenged by is the fact that so many people still dwell in the Sunday morning crowd and are not fully engaged followers (we call them disciples) of Jesus Christ!

The task before us as a faith community is overwhelming…we live in an urban area of over four million people. Four million people who are living their lives for the most part, totally unaware of the paths they walk toward eternity. The overwhelming part is that one or two or five of us do not have the capacity to reach so many, because we know that must people are going to be reached through the power of contagious relationships. That is why we must have every member of our church family fully engaged.

We must have every person who calls themselves followers of Jesus, fully engaged in His mission. What does that mean? It simply means this: the people of God partnering with Him in His redemptive mission in the world.

Thank you for giving us so many wonderful memories.  My life is so blessed because of the time you and I were able to share doing God’s Kingdom work.

Edwin, your life serves as an inspiration to all of us who have known you. Your passionate pursuit of God’s love and grace given for the broken daily renews the motivation of all who were privileged to serve with you.

It's been a while since I've blogged....

I trust your New Year has been launched into the winds of His ardent favor and that your days have been delighted with the sweet incense of consecration!  For me, I've been privileged to stoke the august fires of consecration in the genesis of a new day, 2010!  With twenty-one days of fasting and consecration and thrity-one days of instruction, we've had some glorious moments walking through the Tabernacle plan God gave Moses for us - a pattern then of the heavenly plans for NOW!

Serving comes at the great expense of denying “self.”

To deny self and serve others is to capture the heartbeat of God!

Yesterday morning, I watched in awe as hundreds of volunteers laid down their family plans, party plans, day plans, on the altars of serving and sacrifice – and serve the community of less fortunate!
